What is the Kemetic Religion
Kemeticism is the practice of the Ancient Egyptian religion, which is one of the
traditional religions of Africa.
The practice does require reconstructionist methods, as there is no form of the religion
that is unbroken from the times of the Ancient Egyptians. But unlike strict reconstructionalist
religions, many Kemetics apply their knowledge to continue the intent and meaning behind
rituals and the religion, versus following ancient texts by rote and unquestioned.
How do I join Per Sekhmet?
Per Sekhmet is not an group that is open to the general public.
New members must be introduced to the group, and "sponsored" by an existing member,
(just as you would introduce a friend to a group of already existing friends).
Our online forums function the same way as our RL group, where existing members sponsor
people to get into it.
Why? Because we have found that adding people willy-nilly, helps you grow in numbers,
it might not necessary help you grow in quality. We want to ensure that people who join
want to share in the community and take responsibility for their actions within
the group.
